ABOUT THE JOB
The Payroll Services Lead ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees. The person will collaborate with the Colleague Services Team to ensure all payroll- related activities comply with relevant laws and regulations.
YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The general scope of work:
• Review and oversee monthly Personal Income Tax (PIT) filings and statutory declarations, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
• Oversee all payroll audit activities both internal and external and ensure all risks are well- managed and controlled.
• Oversee Social, Health, and Unemployment Insurance (SHUI) reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submission of monthly, quarterly and annual insurance reports in accordance with government requirements.
• Develop and implement payroll procedures, processes, and controls to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of payroll operations.
• Manage payroll- related government reporting, including ad- hoc requests, audits, inspections, and regulatory submissions required by tax authorities, social insurance agencies, and other relevant bodies.
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding to payroll inquiries and issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Provide operational support for contractor and workforce conversion activities, including vendor coordination, employee conversion.
• Be responsible as people leader in building a high performing team, continuous developing team member for their career growth and progression.
• Leading the payroll team to deliver the daily operations of payroll processing, including reviewing and verifying payroll data, and ensuring the accuracy of employee payroll information
• Act as the subject matter expert for payroll- related tax and insurance matters, providing guidance to internal teams.
• Manage relationships with external payroll vendors, ensuring that payroll data is delivered and processed accurately and punctually.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as People & Culture and Finance, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Coordinate and review reports requested by internal stakeholders such as Finance, People & Culture, Riks, Compliance and Audit team, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Lead and review the annual PIT finalization process, including employee eligibility assessment, reconciliation, submission to tax authorities, and issuance of PIT withholding certificates.
• Maintain compliance with all applicable payroll laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Other tasks
Work closely with Colleague Services Manager to:
• Support the development and implementation of payroll control frameworks, including documentation of risks, controls, procedures and monitoring mechanisms to improve payroll accuracy, compliance and operational resilience.
• Other projects as assigned.
• Support the payroll uplift project by providing payroll expertise to uplift processes, controls and system effectiveness.
