RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information;
Assist in the coordination and monitoring of the operational, administrative and financialaspects of the project in accordance with IOM policies and practices as wellas donor’s requirements.
Keep the supervisor informed on the status of project implementation; identify gaps andsuggest actions to improve implementation.
Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets,Monitoring & Evaluation tools and standard operations procedures.
Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports in accordancewith IOM procedures and donor requirements.
Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, United Nations agencies, local authoritiesand stakeholders and government counterparts.
Contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity buildingactivities targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementingpartners and communities.
Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordinationmeetings, and other forums
Participate in the preparation of project proposals and a diverse range ofcommunication products, concept notes and other planning documents
Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, projectassessments, liaison with counterparts, etc.
Update information management systems and social media platforms on project relatedactivities including project awareness and visibility, summaries, press releases and otherrelevant materials.
Perform other related duties as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEEDUCATION
• Master’s degree in the above- mentioned fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, DevelopmentStudies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accreditedacademic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,
EXPERIENCE•
Solid background as well as programmatic and academic experience in climate change,resilience and adaptation as well as migration;
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions,United Nations agencies and non- governmental organizations;
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non- governmentor government institutions/organization in a multi- cultural setting is an advantage.
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims oftrafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
SKILLS
• Strong project management and monitoring skills;
• Qualitative and quantitative research and analysis skills;
• IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process,which may include written and/or oral assessments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; and
• In depth knowledge of climate change, resilience and adaptation related subject areas andmigration dealt with by the Organization;

Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on specific projecttopics.
Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budgetrelated information.
Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involvingextensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests,obtain necessary clearances, process and follow- up on administrative actions, etc.
Draft status reports, identifying shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of thesupervisor and suggest remedial actions.
Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics,statistical tables, presentation and other forms of documentation.
Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records;organize meetings, workshops and training sessions;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCEEDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, DevelopmentStudies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accreditedacademic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
• School diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
EXPERIENCE
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non- government orgovernment institutions/organization in a multi- cultural setting is an advantage.
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions,United Nations agencies and non- governmental organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims oftrafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Experience working in emergency relief and/or recovery projects is an advantage.
SKILLS
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performingresponsibilities;
• Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills;

Nature of the internship:Among its strategic objectives, IOM Viet Nam is promoting saving lives and driving solutions todisplacement through its projects and programmes on humanitarian action, disaster riskmanagement, and climate mobility. IOM’s projects support the Government of Viet Nam inenhancing its legal and policy framework to better response to emergencies, protect vulnerablepopulations, build resilience, reduce disaster risks, adapt to climate change and prevent furtherdisplacements.Under a six- month internship, the successful candidate will support the Emergency Responseteam, Programming, Project Development and Implementation unit in the Ha Noi office toimplement grant- funded projects assisting populations affected by typhoons and flooding. Theintern will support project activities, including the distribution of cash assistance, shelter repairand reconstruction, capacity building, and awareness- raising communications, among others.The intern will receive a Monthly Subsistence Allowance (MSA), which corresponds with theplace of residence and level of education.

Tasks to be performed under this internship:
- Provide event coordination, communications, and administrative support as assigned.
- Translate project documents between English and Vietnamese and interpret duringmeetings (non- professional)
- Assist in taking notes, drafting summaries, and preparing documents includingpresentations and talking points, contributing to organization of meetings, events, andactivities.
- Assist the team in implementing project activities.
- Travel to participate in distribution events and post- distribution monitoring
- Support with data collection, entry, and analysis, contributing to the projects’ monitoringand evaluation, as well as evidence- based programming of IOM Viet Nam.
Eligibility
Candidates must be between 20 and 36 years old at the time of application and meet one of thefollowing requirements:
- Have graduated from a graduate school programme (second university degree, mastersor equivalent, or higher); and, if selected, must commence the internship within one yearof graduation.Interns are expected to be covered by their own non- occupational accidents and illnesses.
- Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree, master’s orequivalent, or higher); or
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Willingness to travel to provinces, including remote communities, is an advantage.
- Excellent user of office applications (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, amongothers).
- Graduate degree from a recognized institution. Majoring in Social Sciences, Foreignlanguages, Communication, Data Science, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of humanitarian and development issues is desirable.
LanguagesFluency in English and Vietnamese both oral and written is required.
