PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
Own end- to- end sourcing and supplier management for mechanical parts to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, capacity, and on- time delivery to support NPI and mass production. Drive RFQ, negotiation, supplier development, and risk mitigation in alignment with Spartronics policies and customer requirements
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Category Strategy & Cost Competitiveness
Build clean cost models (material, process, finishing, overhead, freight) and identify cost- down opportunities.
Lead RFQ/RFP events and run commercial + technical evaluations (price, tooling, lead time, capacity, risk, quality systems).
Supplier Management & Performance
Own supplier selection, onboarding, and performance tracking (OTD, quality PPM, responsiveness, cost competitiveness).
Manage supplier escalations: delivery recovery plans, capacity constraints, and quality containment.
NPI / Engineering Collaboration
Support sample builds and pilot runs: timeline tracking, issue closure, lessons learned.
Partner with Engineering/Quality/Manufacturing on supplier technical alignment, PPAP/FAI readiness, and change control (ECN/Rev management).
Commercial & Contract
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, Incoterms, MOQ/MPQ, and liability terms (NCNR, tooling ownership, safety stock).
Maintain sourcing documentation: RFQ summary, supplier recommendation, award justification, and price files.
Systems & Data Discipline
Maintain supplier master data, supplier audit, certification, in D365 (or ERP) with strong data discipline.
Ensure compliance to customer, regulatory, and ethical sourcing requirements.
Scope: Category leader/ strategic owner
Success indicators: sustained cost reduction, resilient supply base, successful NPIs at scale, improved contract coverage and supplier performance.
Own strategy for major spend: consolidation/segmentation, long- term agreements, supplier development roadmap, and executive escalations.
Lead supplier capability audits, localization strategy, and new supplier introduction for risk/cost optimization.
Mentor team members; standardize sourcing processes and governance.
