Scrum Master (Design)

Cross- functional coordination: Designers need structured support to align with Core, AI, and Payment teams.
Product Lead bandwidth: Too much time is spent on follow- ups, reducing focus on product strategy.
Design backlog: Priorities are unclear, leading to delays and misalignment.
Workflow inefficiency: Without dedicated ownership, tasks stall and productivity suffers.

Your responsibilities

Collaborate with the Product Lead to manage the design backlog, clarify priorities, and ensure tasks are scoped, assigned, and distributed effectively.
Update and improve workflows continuously, ensuring visibility and efficiency in how design tasks are tracked and completed.
Follow up and unblock designers to help them complete work on time without compromising creativity.
Ensure quality standards are met for design deliverables at the end of each sprint.
Assist the team in implementing process improvements to drive higher velocity and clearer accountability.
Manage scope, timeline, and delivery of design outputs, ensuring design deliverables are ready to support engineering milestones.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies for the Designing team, including daily stand- ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and demo meetings.
Coach and mentor team members in Agile best practices, helping elevate the maturity and productivity of the Designing team.
Cultivate a productive and positive design culture, where team members take ownership, stay aligned, and find satisfaction in their contributions.
Serve as the primary bridge between the Product Lead, the Designing team, and other Scrum Masters (Core, AI, Payment), ensuring seamless cross- team communication.

Tools: Proficient in Jira, Trello, Asana, or similar project management tools to track workflows and sprints.
Domain knowledge: Familiar with engineering workflows and appreciative of design/UX/UI principles- able to balance structure with creativity.
Problem- solver: Strong conflict- resolution skills and the ability to quickly analyze and resolve issues.
Mindset: Self- motivated, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic startup setting.
Agile expertise: Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and agile techniques, with proven ability to run ceremonies and manage backlogs.
Experience: 2+ years in project management, Agile delivery, or Scrum Master role- ideally within a tech startup or high- growth environment.
Leadership: Skilled at influencing without authority, removing blockers, and aligning multiple stakeholders.
Communication: Excellent English skills, both written and verbal; able to clearly articulate tasks, priorities, and expectations across functions.
Organized: Exceptional ability to manage multiple priorities and workflows in a fast- paced environment.
Nice to have:
Scrum Master certification (e.g., PSM) ) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with UI/UX principles and best practices is an advantage.
Hands- on experience in developing software using React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, and AWS cloud platform is a strong plus.
