Standard Time Setting & Capacity Validation
Regularly review and update standard times to reflect process improvements and efficiency changes.
Calculate and validate standard capacity for workshops and production lines based on standard times and line balance analysis, providing accurate data for production planning, manpower planning, and efficiency evaluation.
Use stopwatch time studies, predetermined time systems, and other IE methods to scientifically measure and establish standard time databases for solid wood processes (cutting, woodworking, painting) and upholstery processes (cutting, sewing, upholstering).
Process Optimization & Lean Improvement
Develop and analyze Value Stream Maps (VSM) for solid wood and upholstery production processes to identify the seven wastes, such as waiting, transportation, and over- processing.
Design and optimize material delivery systems, workstation layouts, and operator movement paths to improve space utilization and operational efficiency.
Lead or participate in cross- functional Lean improvement projects, including line balancing optimization, cellular manufacturing design, SMED (quick changeover), and WIP reduction, and be responsible for validating results and standardizing outcomes.
Cost Analysis & Efficiency Improvement
Participate in feasibility analysis and performance evaluation for new equipment and new process introductions.
Monitor and analyze key cost drivers, with a strong focus on improving solid wood material yield and upholstery fabric utilization through optimized cutting layouts and process improvements.
Analyze labor productivity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and other performance data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvement actions.
Production Standards & Documentation Management
Prepare and maintain IE core documents, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), production line balance charts, and standard work combination sheets.
Design and optimize production fixtures, jigs, visual management boards, and production information reports.
Provide training on IE tools and standards to ensure effective implementation on the shop floor.
Data Support & Project Management
Support new product trial runs using IE methodologies, participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, and develop preliminary process routes and labor time estimates.
Support the Lean & Technology Manager in other assigned special studies or improvement projects.
Collect, analyze, and report key operational data such as production efficiency, labor utilization, and line downtime; prepare daily, weekly, and special analysis reports.
