ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced and results- driven Customs Clearance Manager (Implant at Customer site) to lead our on- site implant team supporting a global leader in electrical distribution, industrial automation, and energy management solutions. This strategic position is based at the client&039;s office and requires managing a team of 4- 5 members while serving as the primary liaison between internal departments, the client&039;s cross- functional teams, customs authorities, carriers, and brokers to ensure seamless operations in customs and domestic transportation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership and Management:
- Manage reporting, documentation, and other operational tasks as required
- Conduct monthly performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Build and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and processes
- Lead, mentor, and manage the implant team of 4- 5 members to deliver operational excellence
Operations Management:
- Work with the client&039;s systems and platforms to manage daily shipment data and tracking
- Provide hyper care support for urgent shipments with shorter lead times
- Perform risk assessment and mitigation plan when needed
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and documentation
- Monitor and ensure all daily shipments are cleared through customs and delivered according to agreed KPIs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all export/import- related matters with the client&039;s internal departments, shippers, carriers, customs brokers, and domestic transportation providers
Customs and Trade Compliance:
- Experience in HS codes classification/ consultancy for electrical and automation products
- Stay current with and interpret relevant legal regulations and policy updates
- Maintain a strict compliance mindset across all operations
- Represent the client in communications with customs authorities and specialized government agencies when required
- Apply deep knowledge of customs procedures, import/export regulations, HS code classification, commodity policies, duties, certificates of origin, duty drawback, and commercial documentation
Stakeholder Management and Improvement:
- Follow up, negotiate, and collaborate with all relevant parties to resolve issues
- Drive improvement programs to optimize transportation and customs clearance operations
- Communicate with regional teams, overseas suppliers in English when required
- Manage supplier performance and drive continuous improvement
