People
• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Events & Planning teams across InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort and Regent Phu Quoc
• Lead performance management, talent reviews, and disciplinary processes in partnership with HR
• Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation across both properties to support business demand.
• Set clear performance expectations, KPIs, and development plans for direct reports, ensuring strong succession planning across the cluster
• Act as a senior point of escalation for team, guest, and client matters when required
• Coach, mentor, and develop event team to build a high- performing, brand- aligned, and commercially focused team.
• Foster a collaborative, one- team culture by working closely with Sales, Operations, Culinary, Finance, and Marketing….
Financial
• Own forecasting accuracy, productivity planning, and performance reporting for the events segment.
• Lead the development and execution of the annual events budge/forecast and revenue strategy for the cluster
• Drive revenue optimization and margin performance through effective pricing strategies, space utilization, upselling.
• Identify opportunities to grow market share, increase average spend, and enhance profitability across both resorts
Responsible Business
• May assist with other duties as assigned by management
• Offer advice to clients to reduce waste, save energy and have a minimal impact to the environment
• Ensure compliance with IHG policies, brand standards, and local regulations, including Fire Life Safety and risk management
• Protect the reputation of both brands by ensuring events are delivered safely, professionally, and in line with luxury expectations
• Other ad- hoc duties – unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done
Guest Experience
• Partner with Sales and Operations to ensure site inspections, banquet tours, and client engagements effectively showcase the strengths of both resorts
• Oversee the event design and planning process, ensuring teams provide expert consultation on space utilization, program flow, menus, production, and creative concepts to maximize meeting effectiveness and guest engagement
• Own the overall event guest and planner experience across InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort and Regent Phu Quoc, ensuring every meeting and event is delivered seamlessly and in line with each brand’s positioning
• Enable quality downtime by providing relevant recommendations that will help host and attendees recharge and relax throughout the day
• Act as a senior brand ambassador and strategic advisor to key clients, planners, and hosts, particularly for high- profile, VIP, and complex events
• Analyse and action against client satisfaction surveys to improve services
• Drive continuous improvement through the analysis of guest feedback, satisfaction surveys, and planner insights, translating results into actionable enhancements
• Ensure robust pre- event, on- site, and post- event processes are consistently applied, including briefings, handovers, billing accuracy, and post- event reviews
• Relate to business needs and make sure team prioritises the things that help our guests get their business done
• Build long term relationship with planners and hosts to increase loyalty to the brand
• Ensure the Events & Planning teams consistently deliver experiences that are distinctive, memorable, and reflective of luxury service excellence
• Set standards and expectations for client communication, responsiveness, and service recovery, stepping in as required to resolve escalated issues
