Role Overview
We are seeking a talented Web Designer / Layout Specialist who can take our content and site structure and transform them into a clean, modern, usable website (or site revamp). You will not be responsible for writing content; your primary role is to design and build layouts, pages, components, and pop- up/interactive elements that integrate into a WordPress backend, ready for use in- house.
Key Responsibilities
• Iterate designs / layouts based on review, feedback, or user testing
• Implement UI elements such as hero sections, section components, call- to- action blocks, slides or carousels, accordions, and popups/modal overlays
• Integrate the layout and templates into WordPress (custom themes or child themes) so that the site is editable / maintainable by staff
• Build the front end of the site (HTML / CSS / JS / theme templates) consistent with the visual design
• Take existing content (text, images, media) and site architecture (landing page, main pages, sub- pages, navigation) and design the page layouts (wireframe → visual)
• Ensure responsive design (mobile, tablet, desktop) and cross- browser compatibility
• Optimize for performance, usability, and accessibility best practices
• Provide documentation or guidance for in- house editors (how to use templates, place content, manage popups, etc.)
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Ability to set up and manage pop- ups / modal windows (via plugin or custom code)
• Familiarity with working with CMS structure (pages, custom post types, widgets, menus)
• Skills in HTML, CSS (including Flexbox / Grid), JavaScript / jQuery (or modern alternatives)
• Ability to take direction but also make design suggestions (within scope)
• Responsive / mobile- first design experience
• Proven portfolio of web layout / redesign projects (especially WordPress or theme work)
• Attention to detail, clean code, and good UI / UX sense• Communication skills to interpret provided content structure and translate it into layout
• Experience building or customizing WordPress themes / templates, creating reusable templates / components
Nice- to- Have
• Experience with animations, transitions, or lightweight interactions
• Experience with A/B testing, conversion optimization
• Experience in design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) to deliver mockups
• Familiarity with page builder plugins (Elementor, WPBakery, Gutenberg, etc.)
Deliverables
• Handoff of design files (if used) and code with versioning / clean organization
• A fully functional WordPress theme (or set of templates) that matches the approved design
• Popup / modal functionality implemented
• Documentation / brief training for in- house team to update content, add new pages, adjust popups
• All major pages (landing page, home, about, services, subpages, contact, etc.) built and responsive

• Smooth scrolling, transitions or subtle animations (where appropriate)
• Well- structured sections (features, services, testimonials, contact) with visual consistency
• A clean, minimal, modern aesthetic, whitespace, good typography, clear content hierarchy
• Popups or modals for lead capture, announcements, or calls to action
• Clear navigation, possibly with sticky menu or scroll- triggered UI
• Hero / banner sections, strong visual or imagery use, with overlay text or call- to action
