System Security Engineer

Gear Inc. is an operated Game Development Studio with offices expanding globally. We are looking for a System Security Engineer with emphasis on operations of the company&039;s internal systems. The team uses cutting- edge technologies to build high performing, scalable cloud- based solutions in a safe, secure, and agile fashion.
Key responsibilities:
As the System Security Engineer you will be required to:

Assist fellow employees with cybersecurity, software, hardware needs
Identify and define system security requirements
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
Track existing processes and offer new processes with the goal to optimize company&039;s security system
Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information such as Firewalls, IPS/IDS, Endpoint;
Conducting proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies for technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Managing security incidents and responding to security breaches
Providing training and support to employees on security best practices
Staying up- to- date with the latest security trends and technologies
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices

Desirable Skills:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non- technical people
Bachelor&039;s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
Basic programming proficiency, sufficient to write and execute scripts from the command line
Excellent analytical, problem- solving, and troubleshooting skills
Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, and routing/switching
Hands- on experience with security technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus
Have knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards

Advantages:

Scripting and automation abilities;
Have experience or knowledge about Mac devices;
Have experience or knowledge about Microsoft solutions;
Have working experience as system administrators
Possess good knowledge of Linux and Bash shell;
Programming experience such as Java, .Net, or Python;
Having relevant professional certifications is a plus
