Supplier Quality Engineer

Reporting: Wahl Vietnam&039;s QA Assistant Manager
Wahl Vietnam is a subsidiary of Wahl Clipper Corporation, a global manufacturer of branded Consumer and Professional products, has an exciting opportunity for a team- oriented individual to fill the role of Supplier Quality Engineer.
Missions:
Ensure that materials and services provided by suppliers consistently meet required quality standards, while driving continuous improvement in processes and supplier performance, with the ultimate goal of eliminating the need for in- house incoming material inspections.
Responsibilities:

Internal & External Audit Support- Prepare for and participate in internal and external quality audits.- Ensure all procedures comply with company policies and relevant regulatory standards.
QC Inspector & Equipment Management- Evaluate target setting and monitor the performance of QC inspectors.- Provide constructive feedback and initiate performance improvement plans as needed.- Supervise and maintain inspection equipment, ensuring regular calibration and optimal functionality.
Other Duties
Supplier Performance & Development- Implement and maintain detailed supplier scorecards to track performance and quality issues.- Conduct performance reviews and interviews with low- performing suppliers.- Lead supplier quality improvement projects and share best practices.- Collaborate with sourcing on supplier development and innovation initiatives.- File and manage claims for quality- related losses.
Continuous Improvement & Project Management- Identify opportunities for process improvement in quality systems.- Lead and track improvement initiatives and evaluate their long- term effectiveness.- Monitor and communicate the impact of quality improvements internally.
Supplier Qualification & Audit- Qualify new suppliers through rigorous assessments in coordination with sourcing.- Conduct regular cycle and on- site audits to ensure ongoing compliance with quality standards.- Evaluate the effectiveness of corrective actions and monitor recurrence of issues.
New Component Introduction- Approve PPAP for critical components and follow up on trial production runs.- Develop inspection specifications and quality requirements for new materials and parts.- Review and confirm Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) related to components.- Train relevant staff on new inspection processes.
Data & Documentation Management- Maintain accurate and up- to- date records of inspections, supplier evaluations, and quality issues.- Enter material information in quality systems and ensure proper auditing of data.- Prepare and deliver quality performance reports and findings to internal stakeholders.
Incoming Material Quality Control- Develop and maintain inspection work instructions (WI) for each material type.- Define and update material- specific quality standards for outsourced and insourced materials.- Train quality staff on inspection procedures and standards.- Oversee daily incoming inspection to ensure compliance and accuracy.- Investigate root causes of material issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).- Manage defective goods returned from production and coordinate with suppliers for resolution.

Microsoft Excel and other statistical tools – ability to communicate data and results in a clear and professional way.
Knowledge of quality management for plastic injection is preferred.
4 years of experience in supplier quality assurance.
Can work on Saturday (if needed).
Bilingual communication skills in English & Vietnamese with Fluency.
ISO 9001: 2015, WCM/Lean system experiences is preferred
Experience with electric certifications (UL, ETL, CSA, and European Compliance Standards) preferred.
Ability to provide technical supports and guidance to quality team and supplier to resolve quality issues.
University degree – Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial

13th- month salary; KPI bonus.
