Purpose
This is a hunter role, responsible for achieving targeted revenue and gross profit through new business development and customer acquisition. You will collaborate with a dynamic team of logistics, supply chain, and procurement professionals to drive growth.
The role requires leadership, integrity, teamwork, and a results- driven mindset, applying strategic and consultative sales techniques to solve customers’ unique supply chain challenges. Success is achieved by navigating complex sales cycles, engaging decision- makers, and delivering tailored solutions through discovery, presentations, and negotiation.
Performance will be measured by growth in new customer acquisition, sales revenue, profit margins, and volume targets.
Prospecting & New Business Development
- Identify, qualify, and pursue potential customers for ocean, air, customs, and trucking services.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and increase share of wallet within existing customers.
- Manage the entire sales cycle — from lead generation to deal closure — across various industry verticals.
- Develop and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual account plans aligned with the company’s overall sales strategy.
- Participate in regular sales meetings to review pipeline health and performance progress.
Account Management
- Identify cross- selling opportunities to maximize account value.
- Provide performance reports and account insights to management when required.
- Promote the full suite of logistics and supply chain services across the network.
- Build, maintain, and expand relationships with key accounts, ensuring service excellence and retention.
- Monitor account performance (volume, revenue, margin) and take corrective actions as needed.
Tender Management- Identify and qualify tender opportunities with both existing and potential customers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop competitive proposals and ensure successful tender outcomes.
Credit Management- Coordinate with finance teams to ensure timely customer payments and compliance with credit terms.
- Support prompt resolution of receivable issues to minimize credit risk.
Sales Initiatives- Collaborate internally to develop new products and services that address evolving customer needs.
- Share market insights and service improvement opportunities with senior leadership.
