Senior PHP 6-month contract

We are hiring a Senior Backend PHP Developer (6- month contract, extendable) to build new features on Laravel/PHP 8.4, support migration from legacy PHP, design scalable databases, and deliver robust RESTful APIs. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem- solving skills, and collaboration with DevOps and cross- functional teams.
Responsibilities

Collaboration & Communication: Effectively collaborate with DevOps, external development teams, operations, and other internal development teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery.
Knowledge Transfer & Support: Provide technical guidance, create handover documentation, and assist with deployment processes.
Lead the migration and development of new features on our modern stack (Laravel 12, PHP 8.4) while also working with the existing PHP 5.4 legacy system during the transition.
Database Expertise: Design, implement, manage, and optimize database schemas and processes (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Memcached) to ensure performance and scalability.
Incident Response: Participate in on- call rotation to address and resolve critical nighttime incidents when necessary.
Workflow Design: Contribute to the planning and structuring of efficient development and deployment workflows.
Basic DevOps: Monitor application logs and perform related basic DevOps tasks.
API Evaluation: Review and assess the suitability and documentation quality of third- party APIs.
Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for development, deployment, and operational processes.

Yêu cầu công việc

Deep understanding and practical experience with both core PHP and the Laravel framework.
Extensive experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
Practical experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
Strong understanding and application of S.O.L.I.D principles.
At least 7 years of PHP development experience (open to strong candidates with less experience).
Proven expertise in advanced MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Memcached, including performance optimization techniques.
Solid grasp of Object- Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and established Design Patterns.
