Senior Packaging Designer/ Mechanical Designer - 3D CAD experience

JOB SUMMARY
The senior packaging engineer or senior packaging designer is responsible to design packaging solutions in line with the customer’s needs.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers
• Assist managers perform special engineering project assignments
• Design packaging solutions while utilizing the products and/or sourced materials
• Assist with packaging evaluations and designs of other engineers or designers
• Support onboarding as set by the engineering manager
• Create CAD drawings, assembly instructions and material lists
• Assist with providing packaging technical expertise
• Visit suppliers as needed and requested by Sourcing
• Manage design specifications and approval of outsourced design
• Lead other engineers in projects
• Assist with the gathering of sufficient information to enable drawings
• Ensures a solution is delivered within the given parameters; on time, construction demands, and packaging budget
• Support other departments
• Assist in understanding material specifications and possible replacement materials as needed
• Visit customers with sales personnel to review technical aspects of customer requirements
• Assess structural requirements, method of transport, long term storage and other specifications
