Senior Network Engineer

Job Description:

Monitor network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made.
All other duties as required.
Improve VPN technologies both for remote workers and providing secure connectivity between our various offices, e.g., SD- WAN site- to- site VPN solution, SASE, and similar.
Replace faulty network hardware components where required.
Improve the network infrastructure by designing, implementing, and configuring new networking technologies and designs.
Write network diagrams and change and implementation plans relating to network improvements.
Improving our network security is ultimately moving us to a more modern identity- based perimeter with zero trust networking.
Engage product and solution vendors.

Skills and Experience:

Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills.
Demonstrated theoretical and operational knowledge in implementing the simplest modern solutions to complex networking and security requirements.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP stack, BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRFs.
Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.
Experience with a range of firewall technologies including FortiGate, CheckPoint, PaloAlto Network firewalls.
Demonstrated experience configuring Cisco, Juniper, Arista routers and switches.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience implementing, configuring, and improving computer networks.
Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside of IT and outside the organization.
Up to date knowledge of the latest modern trends in networking.
Demonstrated experience creating and documenting easy to follow processes for changing network infrastructure.
