Key Responsibilities
Strategic Performance & Business Leadership
• Define and execute a unified regional strategy that drives business growth and operational excellence across all countries in the region
• Collaborate with Country GMs to draw up and align on short- and long- term targets on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, ensuring consistent execution across all markets
• Translate Group objectives into actionable regional plans, ensuring alignment with local market dynamics
Financial Oversight & Commercial Accountability
• Work closely with the finance team to track progress and trends in budgeting and forecasting, and lead strategic directional changes based on scenario analysis and direct input from each country&039;s real- world situations.
• Build effective incentive schemes to promote higher performance and ensure all country cost structures are within the established framework.
• Directly accountable for delivering on the Group&039;s overall financial targets.
• Own the regional P&L, ensuring revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost control across all operating units
• Monitor and ensure the efficient use of local working capital and budgets in each country.
Business & Operational Excellence
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance productivity, efficiency, workflows, and automation.
• Lead regional operations, ensuring alignment with Group’s strategic goals.
• Implement performance dashboards and real- time reporting frameworks to enable data- informed decision- making.
• Work with and align with Country GMs to manage business crisis situations, including strikes, major forces, legal issues, or problems with local strategic partnerships.
• Standardize operational processes across countries to ensure scalability, compliance, and efficiency.
• Drive efficiency and cost optimization across the region.
Product Development, Inventory, & Launch Management
• Ensure all products are properly registered with the FDA and other relevant authorities before launch.
• Validate and approve country product development plans from a strategic and high- level perspective, ensuring they cover all risks of lead discontinuance which can cause revenue loss.
• Ensure these plans also provide more opportunities for lead volume and revenue growth.
• Ensure countries are managing all stock issues in a timely and efficient manner, including out- of- stock (OOS), high inventory, expiry, near- expiry, shrinkage, and promotional stocks.
• Oversee import/export procedures and manage cross- border stock and product handling.
Legal & Compliance
• Develop and oversee internal governance frameworks.
• Ensure regional legal, tax, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead contract negotiations and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with internal codes of conduct.
• Strengthen local partnerships by proactively reviewing vendor and partner contracts, looking for red flags like potential fraud, and renegotiating terms to improve the company&039;s position.
Leadership & Team Development
• Directly manage Country General Managers and a regional sales & operation team.
• On behalf of higher management, engage in country bonding activities.
• Build a high- performing, collaborative culture that fosters accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Lead talent development initiatives, including succession planning, coaching, and cross- country leadership programs.
• Demonstrate empathetic leadership through active listening and by addressing countries&039; cultural and religious differences.
Regional Engagement & Operational Oversight
• This role requires regular visits to countries based on an agenda for business check- ins, engagement, and operational oversight.
Market Expansion & Strategic Positioning
• Lead and guide Country GMs and relevant HODs to find solutions to regain market competitiveness.
• Evaluate Country GM proposals for exploring new business opportunities and new business strategies before presenting plans to higher management.
• Request customer and competitor surveys to constantly update market trends and customer feedback.
• Conduct competitive analysis and customer segmentation to refine go- to- market strategies and product positioning.
