Pattern Specialist (Sofa)

Work with the Design, R&D, and Engineering teams to develop cover patterns for new sofa designs (stationary, motion, high- end).Interpret design concepts and translate them into efficient cover patterns and detailed sew drawings using Lectra software.Optimize fabric and leather usage through nesting and pattern efficiency to reduce cost.Support OEM/ODM projects by creating cover patterns for customer- requested designs and modifying existing in- line patterns.Collaborate with frame engineering to ensure frame and cover fit alignment.Partner with Sewing and Upholstery teams during pilot builds and first production runs to ensure proper fit and quality.Audit in- line products and proactively recommend pattern improvements to enhance comfort, aesthetics, and manufacturability.Research and apply new construction techniques (e.g., modern seams, decorative stitching, cover- fit for high- end leather motion).Benchmark competitor products and propose new pattern concepts for international markets.Maintain accurate sew specs and pattern libraries in Lectra and PDM systems.

Education:Graduated from Textile, Upholstery, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent fields.2. Experience:2+ years in upholstery furniture cover pattern design (sofa, motion, stationary).Proven expertise in Lectra (or equivalent CAD software) for pattern design and nesting.Strong background in sofa upholstery construction techniques.Experience in OEM/ODM development preferred.3. Knowledge of:Knowledge of Lectra hardware and software to be used in laying patterns for cut and sew operation with the intent to maximize material utilization.Knowledge and ability to create detailed sew drawings.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision patterns, sew drawings, and samples.Knowledge of the practical application of engineering principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various upholstery and upholstery- related products.4. Skills and AbilitiesStrong technical knowledge of cover construction, fabric/leather properties, and sewing methods.Ability to balance design intent, cost, and manufacturing efficiency.Excellent communication skills; can work with global teams and customers.Creative, detail- oriented, proactive problem solver.*Opportunities to specialize in:High- end leather motion sofa cover design.ODM concept development for international markets.CoverFit automation & digital pattern technologies.
