Goals
The role of the Operations Agent is to handle all Ground Operations in accordance with the LCAG requirements and procedures.
Tasks
Within the operational targets set by the superior, the Operations Agent performs the following duties:
Load Control Duties:
Briefs GHA about off- , on load as well as sequence of loading/unloading
Calculation and Planning of load distribution for the aircraft taking into consideration the rules and regulations as per GOM.
Cargo onload optimization in regard to aircraft volume and weight.
Prepares flight relevant documents such as general declarations, permits for local customs authorities, etc.
Coordination of station activities and suppliers
Maintains traffic reports,
Produces arrival and departure notifications,
Issuance of loadsheet and completion of Notoc
Dispatch of operational messages as well as other post flight activities ,
Ramp Agent Duties:
Check of all ULD’s (Unit Load Devices) for airworthiness to ensure a safe flight operation,
Monitors the condition, the readiness , the amount of the equipment as well as the amount of necessary staff from the GHA required on the aircraft and reports any irregularities
Responsibility for aircraft and ramp safety,
Secures load on aircraft (i.e. locks) and signs the loading instruction
Supports, cooperates and communicates with all colleagues, including crew and sales staff
Ensures that security and safety procedures are adhered to in accordance with set procedures,
Loads and unloads the aircraft as per loading instruction in accordance with the requirements of the GOM or supervises these functions,
Assists the supervisor in ensuring that all defined service standards are understood and met by GHA (General Handling Agent),
Establishes, maintains and evaluates statistical data,
Ensures that all work is carried out according to documented quality manual procedures, and promotes a preventative (perhaps better: .. takes preventative measures, using the tools provided) culture using the tools provided,
Checks ramp area for cleanliness,
Coordinate and monitors the suppliers to ensure punctual performance,
General:
Performs all other duties assigned or delegated by supervisors,
Performs Load Master duties if required,
Performs crew support such as briefings, crew catering and hotel bookings,
Assists with cargo handling related supervision and co- ordination,
Fully cooperates with LCAG management, Cargo/Operations and warehouse staff ,
Keeps up- to- date with all developments & changes regarding new procedures, incl. security procedures,
After gaining sufficient experience he/she performs surveillance duties.
Performs all handling duties within LCAG & GHA when appropriate,
Reporting of Incidents as per SAM
People Management/Supervision:
Provides regular and accurate staff feedback to the GHA (General Handling Agent) management and to Manager Handling ,
Assists the supervisor in the GHA’s (Ground Handling Agents) ground operations activities by economical utilization of all manpower and ensuring that all LCAG safety and quality standards are adhered to,
Local / Regional Specifics (up to 30%):
Supervises, motivates, encourages, guides and evaluates the staff of GHA (General Handling Agents) in co- operation with GHA management,
Performs local training for GHA staff – Keeps records of all support activity related to GHA
Ensures the planning of work and appropriate scheduling in absence of the Cargo Supervisor,
Supports monitoring and controlling subcontractors (including handling company), requesting corrective action when necessary to ensure required performance levels.
