[URGENT]Role Overview
This role is ideal for someone who has hands- on experience with WordPress development and wants to grow their skills in modern web technologies while working in a fast- paced startup environment.
As a Junior WordPress Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, customizing, and maintaining WordPress websites for client projects. You will work closely with designers, frontend engineers, and backend developers to deliver high- quality, responsive, and optimized web solutions.
This is a remote, full- time position.
Responsibilities
Maintain and update existing WordPress websites
Follow best practices for code quality, version control, and deployment
Assist with WordPress performance optimization and website security improvements
Troubleshoot and debug website issues
Develop and maintain WordPress websites for client projects
Collaborate with designers and engineers to deliver high- quality web solutions
Customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements
Build responsive and user- friendly website layouts using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Integrate third- party tools, APIs, and plugins into WordPress websites
Required Qualifications
Basic understanding of Git or version control systems
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Understanding of responsive web design principles
1–3 years of experience in WordPress development (projects, freelance, internships, or academic work welcome)
Experience with WordPress theme customization and plugin usage
Familiarity with PHP fundamentals for WordPress customization
Strong problem- solving and debugging skills
Preferred
Familiarity with Elementor, WPBakery, or other page builders
Basic knowledge of SEO best practices for websites
Experience developing custom WordPress themes or plugins
Knowledge of WordPress performance optimization (caching, image optimization, etc.)
Familiarity with hosting environments and website deployment
