The Ocean Freight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day- to- day freight operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction at the Ho Chi Minh branch. This role involves coordinating with internal teams, external partners, and regional product teams to optimize operational performance and maintain high service standards.
Operational Management
Supervise daily ocean freight operations to ensure compliance with SOPs and KPIs.
Monitor shipment processing, documentation, and data accuracy to maintain service quality.
· Coordinate and support the month- end closing process to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
Performance & Reporting
Generate job and volume reports to analyze costs, sales, gross profit, and key operational KPIs.
Review and ensure data- quality reports meet performance targets.
Identify areas for improvement in workflow, resource allocation, and subcontractor management.
Customer & Vendor Relations
Assist in customer acquisition and retention by supporting joint sales calls and performance meetings.
Ensure service commitments to customers are met while supporting business growth initiatives.
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors (carriers, truckers, brokers. etc.) and address performance issues.
Team Leadership & Development
Promote a positive and collaborative work environment to drive team success.
Provide guidance and training to the ocean freight team to enhance skills and efficiency.
Support team members in resolving complex shipment or service- related issues.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure mandatory documents are collected, verified, and properly maintained.
Oversee documentation processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
Approve accounts payable and receivable documents before job closure.
Continuous Improvement
Conduct case studies and root cause analyses to prevent recurring issues.
Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to improve logistics efficiency.
Work closely with regional and local teams to implement operational enhancements.
