Mechanical Engineer (Fixture Design)

Console/ Packing Assembly NPD Project Management:

Manage suppliers of capital equipment for turn- key applications / custom equipment.
Coordinate NPD builds and follow up actions, including but not limited to Engineering Builds, Qualification Builds, and Pilot builds
Deliver formal presentations to leadership regarding project status
Attend NPD meetings, work with the Operations Team to develop and maintain manufacturing action plans for new tooling, equipment, and production scheduling needs
Develop and maintain Gantt Charts, Project Schedule, Risk Assessment, and Contingency Plans
Manage cost, timing and budget of each project
Develop agendas to facilitate and document project meetings
Create collaborative project communication channels with NPD, Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Scheduling, Quality, Supervision, and floor operators

Manufacturing Engineering Development

Assist with Continuous Improvement Projects in: Kaizen Activities, Visual Management, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, OEE, Work Instructions, Time Studies, Line Balancing, etc…
Commit to major strategic cost, quality and delivery initiatives with aggressive focus on breakthrough process and technology improvements to achieve a substantial competitive advantage
Engage in automation and innovation course through technology co- research and development as well as engineering co- test and deployment
Have ability to work with prototypes to confirm manufacturing time/cost estimates and test proposed manufacturing processes
Have capability to use CAD to design tooling, fixtures, and gages
Have ability to conduct research, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes and capital equipment to improve current throughput, scrap/rework reduction, reduce cost, improve quality and improve reliability
Be familiar with GD&T, Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans
Conduct equipment certification and run- off, using statistical analysis tools to verify process rate, capability and Gage R&R

Process Design Analysis and Continuous Improvement

Understand well financial impacts of problem and solution
Provide multiple what- if scenarios to find best total cost solution
Possess a systematic as well as creative approach to problem solving process
Perform a wide variety of calculations and software aided analysis
Exhibit vision and foresight to test process extremes and build a robust risk assessment analysis matrix to ensure project success

Education: Bachelor&039;s degree in Mechatronic/ Mechanical Engineering (most preferable) or Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Industrial Engineering or with equivalent years of directly related experience
Experience:

1- 3 years related experience in Tools Assembly/ Mechatronic/ Mechanical manufacturing (most preferable) or an equivalent manufacturing environment
Minimum one- year project management experience

Functional Skills:

Specialty skills in Tools Assembly/ Mechatronic/ Mechanical (most preferable) or Metal Stamping, Forging, Machining, Injection Molding or Electrical and Electronics Manufacturing
CAD Proficient with fixture design ability is preferred
Relevant Controls and Automation experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite- - Including MS Project

Other Abilities:

From intermediate English skills in both written and verbal communication
Being eager to learn, willing to promote innovative course by the ability to develop agile decision- making and grasp technical concepts quickly
Self- starter with sense of urgency, a team player with constructive communication skills
