WHAT’S THE JOB?
Oversees and directs all aspects of the Marketing activities. Responsibilities include overseeing the planning and development of promotional strategies and marketing and public relations plans; oversee and assist with the development and implementation of the sales and marketing plan; management of the marketing team and reporting on effectiveness of the plan.
YOUR DAY- TO- DAY
• Accept media complaints and online guest complaints, requests, and inquiries and coordinates handling with departments concerned
• Maintain clipping files pertaining to the hotel(s) based on daily perusal of the media and provides same to General Manager, other departments, other hotels, corporate public relations, as appropriate
• Strategize, develop, execute and regularly review marketing and public relations plan to different market needs to drive hotel revenue and awareness of the hotel to ensure the revenue plan objectives are achieved.
• Maintain hotel photo file.
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time
• Coordinate and support all methods of maintaining and increasing business volume. This includes advertising, sales promotion, personal selling, publicity, community relations, special sales projects, etc.
• Maintain good public relations by extending personalised service to media. e.g. following up on reservations media, assisting in greeting media and groups upon their arrival, sending welcome letter to media.
• Work with superior in the preparation and management of the Department’s budget.
• Organise and promote, in cooperation with the Food & Beverage Department special projects to stimulate Food & beverage sales within the community, including, but limited to, tournaments, balls, parties, gastronomic festivities, etc.
• Co- ordinate hotel photography when required.
• Analyse current and competitor marketing trends, coordinate all marketing activities to maintain and increase revenue through added business volume and increased rate.
• Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any hotel activity related to Fire Life safety.
• Monitor awareness of competitor activities and use information when developing strategies.
• Review regularly internal promotion pieces for visual effect and ensure they conform with brand standards
• Produce the Annual Marketing Budgets, Forecasts and Plan.
• Create promotional and hotel press releases and distribute them to different media based on different content.
• Provide information to other departments on activities within and outside the hotel which may be useful when dealing with guests
• Maintain regular contact with the IHG hotels in your region and the regional reservation office
• Plan and coordinate sponsorship activities.
• Implement direction from Director of Sales & Marketing and Regional Managers.
• Liaise with Human Resource Director on matters affecting corporate image.
• Recommend Director of Sales & Marketing the kind of advertising which will be most productive for the hotel by analysing the market effectiveness of past advertising campaigns and consulting with other Department Heads.
• Enhance the image of the hotel in the local community.
• Oversee the development of new marketing strategies.
• Build profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market place.
• Develop and organise promotional activities, coordinates with departments concerned; invites media to promotional activities; prepares and issues press releases
• Maintain good relationship with internal team members, local and international media and third- party business partners.
• Evaluate marketing and public relations activities to ensure effectiveness of each campaign and budget optimization.
• Develop media contacts and other press activities. Acts as hotel’s liaison with media to promote good publicity and counteract bad publicity.
• Promote the hotel and maintain good public relations in order to maintain the prestigious image of the hotel. Duties involve planning, directing, controlling, coordinating and participating in all Public Relations activities.
• Work with superior on manpower planning and management needs.
• Maintain mailing list/contact file.
