Junior Web Developer HTML5, CSS3, Ruby On Rails

We are looking for a Junior Web Developer to join our growing Motorist Vietnam team.
You will help design, build, and maintain production web features in Ruby on Rails and modern front- end tech, collaborating closely with product, design, and mobile teams to deliver fast, reliable user experiences.
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Final- year students or fresh graduates with strong Fullstack Web project portfolios are also welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

Implement well- structured UI and client logic (HTML5/CSS3/ JavaScript, Bootstrap).
Ensure performance, security, SEO, and accessibility best practices.
Refactor and optimize code; build reusable components and partials.
Participate in code reviews, sprint ceremonies, and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate with backend, mobile, and QA to ship high- quality releases.
Design, build, and maintain web features in Ruby on Rails.
(Nice exposure) Assist with deploys using Capistrano + Puma and background jobs via Sidekiq + Redis.

Technical Experiences
Must have

Strong attention to detail and analytical problem- solving mindset.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
SQL fundamentals (queries/joins); familiarity with MySQL.
Strong foundations in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+) and responsive design.
Understanding of RESTful API integration and JSON data handling.
Proficient understanding of code version control tools, such as Git.
Basic Ruby on Rails skills (routing, controllers, views, models).

2 Nice to have

Background jobs & caching: Sidekiq + Redis.
Appreciation for clean, maintainable, and well- structured code.
Basic RSpec testing and CI concepts.
Rails ecosystem gems familiarity (any of): Devise, CanCanCan, Pagy/ WillPaginate, Chartkick, CarrierWave + Fog- AWS, Geocoder, Lograge, Stripe.
Experience with React (or Vue/Angular) and component- based UI.
Collaborative mindset and a reliable team player who takes ownership of their work.

Language Skills

Willing to learn and improve communication when working with Singapore HQ and other markets.
Able to communicate and collaborate in English (written and spoken).

Flexible Points

Are curious about performance tuning, SQL optimization, and production deployment.
Aren’t fully fluent in English yet but are motivated to practice and improve.
Want to learn Ruby on Rails deeply (or transition from PHP/Node.js).
