Junior Coffee Agronomist

- Collection of primary and secondary data that will enable an assessment of both current and future production.
- Implementation of agreed crop tour methodology for crop estimation.
- Plan and execute regular crop tours to estimate the production using:
Visual yield estimation.
High- quality farmer interviews and

Contribute to collecting coffee area data from:

Gathering of information from third parties like research institutes, nurseries, state farms etc.
Farmer interviews
Confirmation of area estimates through visual estimation of area changes
Official sources regularly
- Participate in stock surveys.
- Highlight the risks to the crop estimate by working out various scenarios. Assessment of the impact of various scenarios on yields and associated probabilities such as weather, pests, diseases and changing costs or supply of inputs or labour etc.
- Communication of the findings in the form of a well- argued crop tour report.
- Regularly analyse the trade flow data and identify the changes, update the group, and prepare comprehensive reports on a monthly basis.
- Collect data related to the cost of production of coffee and its competing crops.
- Close monitoring of weather developments and long- term forecasts to update production estimates.

Good communication and presentation skills in English and Vietnamese
Should have strong desire to travel to coffee regions on regular basis for crop tours
Graduate or post- graduate in Agriculture / Agronomy
Very good knowledge of MS Office in particular advanced Excel skills.
Strong knowledge in coffee agronomy, preference will be given to the candidates with relevant experience in implementing coffee crop estimation program
Willing to travel
Strong Analytical and Statistical Skills.
