Leadership & Team Management:- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Industrial Engineers and line mechanics.- Assign projects, conduct performance reviews, and foster a culture of continuous learning and problem- solving.- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance departments to achieve shared goals.2. Standard Setting & Method Improvement:- Establish and maintain accurate Standard Minute Values (SMV) / Standard Allowed Minutes (SAM) for all styles and operations.- Develop and implement best practice sewing methods, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.- Conduct time and motion studies (using tools like AEC or similar) to identify areas for improvement.- Lead the creation and maintenance of operation bulletins (layout sheets) and line balancing activities.3. Production System & Line Layout Design:- Design, implement, and optimize production line layouts (e.g., straight line, modular/bundleless system, UPS) to maximize efficiency and reduce WIP.- Calculate and recommend the optimal number of machines, manpower, and line capacity for new and existing styles.- Drive the implementation of lean manufacturing principles.4. Efficiency & Productivity Management:- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Efficiency%, Productivity, Capacity Utilization, and Hourly Target.- Investigate and address root causes of low efficiency, bottleneck operations, and high losses.- Implement corrective and preventive actions to consistently meet or exceed efficiency targets.5. Costing & Capacity Planning:- Work closely with the costing department to provide accurate SMV data for garment costing.- Provide accurate capacity plans to the planning department to ensure realistic production schedules.- Identify and lead projects aimed at reducing manufacturing costs (labor, material, and overhead).6. New Product Introduction & Technology:- Partner with the sample and production teams during new product development to ensure designs are manufacturable (Design for Manufacturability- DFM).- Pilot new styles on the production floor, setting the standard for the bulk run.- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, equipment, and automation to enhance productivity.7. Training & Development:- Organize and conduct training sessions for line supervisors, operators, and helpers on new methods, efficiency improvement, and quality standards.
