Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail- oriented HPC Research Engineer to join our Application Team. You will play a key role in applying cutting- edge technologies—including AI—to High- Performance Computing (HPC) systems. Your main responsibilities will involve verifying public bidding requirements (mostly from Japanese government agencies or academic institutions), performing functional and performance testing, and contributing to value- added software and hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Documentation & proposals: Prepare logically structured evidence- based documentation, including performance graphs and justifications.
• Continuous learning: Embrace new technologies, enhance your technical skill set, and support team growth.
• Testing & validation: Conduct investigations and build test environments to ensure compliance with bidding requirements.
• Gather supporting data from manuals, tests, or performance benchmarking.
• Understand bidding requirements: Analyze technical specifications, identify key evaluation criteria, and develop strategies to meet or exceed them.
• Knowledge management: Organize reusable proposal materials to increase future project efficiency.
Required Qualifications
• Proficiency in scripting on Linux- based systems
• Strong logical thinking, problem- solving, and analytical skills
• Foundational knowledge in computing infrastructure:
- Computer Architecture: Memory hierarchy, paging, multicore systems, I/O
- Computer Networking: OSI model, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, DMA
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Programming skills in C/C++, Fortran, Python
• Job/workload managers: Slurm, OpenPBS, or JupyterHub
• Experience with containers: Docker, Kubernetes, or Singularity
• AI/ML benchmarking tools: MLPerf
• HPC benchmarking tools: Linpack, HPL
• Parallel file systems: Lustre, BeeGFS, with tools like IOR, MDTEST, or IOZONE
• Language skills:
•- English – Preferred (used in daily team meetings)
•- Japanese – A plus
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
Language Requirements
• English: Preferred
• Vietnamese: Business level (daily communication)
• Japanese: Advantageous
