Head of Production & Engineering

Overall responsible to lead and oversee Production Planning, Production Operation and Engineering/ Maintenance activities, functions and processes in the company which includes output/ productivity improvement, cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
Daily:

Manage labor allocation and equipment performance to minimize downtime.
Execute and monitor production schedules (MPS/MRP) and material availability.
Track quality issues, scrap/reject rates, and provide coaching to supervisors and operators.
Oversee plant operations: output, capacity, quality, and delivery performance.

Weekly:

Hold weekly reviews with production, engineering, and quality teams.
Monitor takt time, productivity, and resolve bottlenecks.
Support new product trials and conduct safety/risk assessments.
Adjust production plans based on demand and capacity.
Analyze production cost variances and drive cost- saving measures.

Monthly:

Review progress of process improvement and cost- reduction projects.
Track customer complaints and corrective actions.
Report key KPIs (productivity, OEE, OTIF, scrap rate).
Control maintenance budgets and review preventive maintenance schedules.

Yearly:

Oversee CAPEX projects, automation, and equipment upgrades.
Manage preventive maintenance programs and asset disposal.
Lead annual production planning, budgeting, manpower, and capital investment.
Conduct performance reviews, staff training, and lead Lean/Kaizen initiatives.

Results- drive mindset with focus on quality, efficiency, compliance and on- time delivery.
Bachelor&039;s Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (Master&039;s degree preferred)
Demonstrated success in cost reduction, productivity improvement and engineering projects (CAPEX, automation, new machinery installation)
Solid understanding and practical implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 Management Systems.
Strong leadership, communication and problem- solving skills with the ability to coach and develop cross- functional teams
Excellent English communication skills (both written and spoken)
Strong proficient in SAP (PP/MM modules) and advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, reporting & analysis)
Minimum 5- 8 years of progressive leadership experience in production within the manufacturing industry (mattress, furniture or related consumer goods preferred)
Proven expertise in production planning (MPS/MRP), process optimization and factory operations management
Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma and Continuous Improvement initiatives
