OBJECTIVES
Data Governance:
Leverage quality of data as an asset to our organisation :-
Data Policies: Manage a library of Data related policies (SBV & Internal) & guidelines.
(Alignment with Group Model ie. EDA DG Team; & Local interpretation on how these policies will apply to the organisation)
Ensuring adherence to policy / guidelines is the responsibility of a Line managers & Audit.
Data Glossary: Data that are sourced / transformed- derived / stored & delivered in Data Warehouse (& Data Marts), manage a single / robust set of Business Glossary.
(Alignment with Group Model, apply a common set of tools that is robust & easy access by Business)
Data Quality (DQ): Ensure profiling, monitoring and remediation of data to meet quality targets. Master tools to ensure end- to- end traceability & monitoring of remediation responsibility at source (ie. by who & when). Report on Status showing DQ trend & highlight areas where improvements is essential.
(Alignment with Group Model to managing Data Committee, Data Stewards & Status reports).
Data Architecture (Governance)….secondary function
In collaboration with IT Architect, ensure adherence to Company policies over the Governance over Data that is under the custodian of BIC.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning/budgeting
• In charge of developing & executing Data Governance and Quality initiatives
People management
• In charge of Governance Department and responsible for the team management with respect to their work, training and satisfaction level
• Periodically evaluate team performance to continually improve its efficiency
Day- to- day activities
• Define and implement the data governance framework and target operating model
• Contribute to the establishment of effective data governance and quality framework
• Detail the data governance structure (data councils, working groups and the data governance operating model) and to roll out its implementation
• Implementation and sustenance of data change management tools such as Jira
• Establish and manage data governance business as usual processes including embedding data governance requirements into other existing business processes in the company
• Undertake other tasks assigned by BIC Director
• Define and implement data governance metrics KPIs and maturity model
• Establish and maintain wholesome strategic engagement with top management of each Business Units including Directors and their appointed deputies and/or representatives who focus on the data governance roles on their behalf
• Work with business stakeholders to identify root cause and rectify data quality issues
• Publish the Data Governance and Quality dashboards to VPB SMBC FC leadership
• Develop data principles, policies, standards, processes and guidelines
