The Payment Platform Team builds and scales the core infrastructure that powers every transaction at Zalopay. Our work ensures reliability, speed, and security across both domestic and international payments. As a Product Management Trainee, you will support product managers by analyzing data, writing product requirements, and coordinating with engineering teams. Over time, you will take ownership of modules within the platform, focusing on initiatives that directly improve checkout success, ensure secure transactions, enhance reliability, and enable cross- border expansion.
This role provides exposure to the full spectrum of Zalopay’s payment ecosystem- from the payment core platform (transaction processing, accounting entries, fund flows) to cross- border payments (FX, settlement) and supports Zalopay’s vision to go global.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Support definition of product requirements and long- term roadmap for payment core and cross- border payment features.
Assist in shaping feature priorities that improve checkout flow, secure transactions, and global scalability.
Execution & Delivery
Collaborate with engineering, QA, and design to ensure smooth delivery.
Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and daily scrum activities.
Write clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), UML diagrams, and workflow documentation (e.g., user flows, sequence diagrams, system diagrams).
Data- driven Analysis
Provide insights to guide problem solving and post- launch improvements.
Utilize SQL, Python, and dashboarding tools (Superset, Metabase, JupyterLab, Tableau) to monitor system health.
Track and analyze KPIs such as success rate, latency, error codes, and transaction volumes.
Cross- functional Collaboration
Align with external stakeholders including banks, schemes, and global payment partners.
Work with Finance, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and Merchant teams on end- to- end initiatives.
Learning & Growth
Develop deep understanding of core payment processing and cross- border workflows.
Gain exposure to big data analytics and microservices architectures that process millions of transactions daily.
RequirementsFunctional Skills
Familiar with query languages: SQL, Python, and exposure to big data environments (Hive, Spark).
Ability to write clear and structured Product Requirement Documents.
Ability to read and interpret UML, system diagrams, and design sequence/user flow diagrams.
Strong data- driven mindset with ability to translate insights into product decisions.
Knowledge of database management fundamentals (e.g., schema design) is a plus.
Exposure to Agile/Scrum project management practices.
0- 2 years of experience in fintech, banking, or technology. Fresh graduates with strong product or Business Analyst mindset are encouraged to apply.
Familiar with payment or financial domains (fund transfers, checkout, cross- border payment) is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Visio, Draw.io.
