The Production Planning Intern will support for creating and managing production schedules, analyzing data to optimize production processes. This role is crucial in ensuring that production planning tasks are completed as required.
Job description
Production Scheduling and Planning: Ensure the optimal scheduling of production orders to meet customer demand, minimize downtime, and balance resources
Coordinate with Supply Planning and warehouse teams to ensure availability of raw materials.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on forecasts, orders, and inventory.
Monitor adherence to plans and adjust schedules as necessary due to material delays, breakdowns, or urgent orders.
Ensure priority products are scheduled based on critical delivery timelines.
Generate material requirement plans (MRP) based on the production schedule.
Track and update the status of raw and packaging material availability for planned jobs.
Flag material shortages and recommend action plans to avoid production stoppages.
SAP System and Data Management: Maintain accurate and timely entry and management of planning data in SAP for traceability and efficiency.
Perform goods issue, consumption booking, and order confirmations in SAP.
Analyze SAP reports to track order status, WIP (Work in Progress), and Print SAP labels.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Provide timely and accurate production planning reports to support operations and management.
Prepare daily production status reports, schedule adherence reports, and utilization metrics.
Maintain dashboards for KPI tracking (e.g., schedule adherence, output vs. plan).
Analyze variances between planned and actual production to support root cause analysis.
Support internal and external audits with relevant planning data.
Qualification & Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
Professional skills & Personal skills
Knowledge of MRP, scheduling tools, and production KPIs.
Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, Lookups, Data Analysis).
