MAYBA PRODUCTIONS
Beyond production, MAYBA designs mentorships and residencies such as The Gái Tệ Residency, Vietnam’s first feature development program for FLINTA filmmakers. We are committed to creating sustainable production environments founded on trust, cultural integrity, and the conviction that Vietnamese cinema can speak powerfully to both local and global audiences.
Our projects have been selected and awarded at platforms including the New York Asian Film Festival, Al Jazeera, the SGIFF Southeast Asian Film Lab, and the Tokyo Talents. Recent works include The River Runs Still (NYAFF 2025) and 50 Years of Forgetting (Al Jazeera, 2025), and the upcoming debut feature The River Knows Our Names, winner of the Tokyo Talents Award and supported by multiple regional labs and markets.
Founded in 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City by producer Thy Trang alongside director Mai Huyền Chi, MAYBA PRODUCTIONS develops and produces contemporary Vietnamese cinema with a focus on women and marginalized voices. We work across fiction, documentary, and experimental forms, fostering collaborations that bridge Vietnam with regional and international partners.
