Position Description
This position is for a dynamic and experienced Librarian Teacher who leads and manages our school library in alignment with the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a love of reading, skilled in managing digital library systems, and experienced in teaching research and academic integrity across the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP). Bilingual proficiency in Vietnamese and English is essential to support our diverse student body and promote literacy in both languages.
Key Responsibilities:
Library Management & E- Library Systems
Collaborate with IT and academic departments to ensure seamless access to digital tools.
Curate and maintain an up- to- date e- library system that supports the IB curriculum.
Train students and staff in the effective use of digital library resources and databases.
Oversee the daily operations of the school library, including physical and digital collections.
Reading Program Leadership
Collaborate with language and homeroom teachers to integrate reading into the curriculum.
Design and implement engaging reading programs in both Vietnamese and English to promote literacy and a love for reading.
Support differentiated reading needs across grade levels and language proficiencies.
Organize author visits, book fairs, reading challenges, and literary events.
Teaching & Curriculum Support
Collaborate with teachers to embed library and research skills into unit plans.
Deliver lessons on information literacy, digital citizenship, and source evaluation.
Support students with Extended Essays, Personal Projects, and other inquiry- based assignments.
Teach research skills, academic honesty, and referencing techniques (APA, MLA, etc.) across the IB continuum.
Professional Collaboration & Development
Serve as a resource for teachers in selecting and integrating library materials into instruction.
Participate in IB training and school- wide professional development.
Contribute to curriculum planning and interdisciplinary projects.
