Position Summary
We are looking for a detail- oriented and reliable finance professional to support the hotel’s accounting operations during the pre- opening phase and beyond. The General Accountant will ensure accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with internal controls, and efficient day- to- day accounting operations in line with IHG standards and hotel policies.
Financial
Review food and beverage control reconciliations and related journals
Prepare monthly invoices and financial statements for distribution as directed by Finance leadership
Review and verify daily revenue journals and accounting transactions
Review accounts payable balances and follow up on outstanding items to maintain healthy aging records
Prepare and review bank reconciliations, including agency imprest and replacement reserve accounts
Prepare asset purchase/disposal reports and maintain replacement reserve records
Prepare and post month- end journals and journal vouchers for closing
Control and reconcile all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
Audit payroll transactions and support payroll accuracy
Control accommodation advance deposits and monitor house banks and investments
Analyse and investigate cashier overages and shortages
Execute payment requests, employee advances, and petty cash controls in accordance with hotel policies
Prepare balance sheet schedules and reconcile all related accounts
Support month- end and year- end closing processes
Review accounts payable purchase journals, inventory reconciliations, and interface postings
Operational Support
Responsible for daily accounting tasks related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Cashiering functions
Support back- office financial system closing and reporting processes
Investigate and input bank statement data accurately and timely
Cooperate and coordinate closely with other departments regarding accounting- related matters and internal controls
Support a collaborative working environment and maintain confidentiality of financial information
Report directly to the Assistant Finance Manager and Finance Manager on accounting and financial control matters
Review and approve city ledger transactions before posting
Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with internal control procedures
Interact professionally with external parties including banks, auditors, tax authorities, and suppliers when required

Preferred Profile
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment
Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Hospitality accounting experience is preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Familiarity with hotel accounting systems and Microsoft Excel is an advantage
Pre- opening experience is a plus
Good understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliation processes
