Purpose of Role:
The Finance Manager for Vietnam will oversee all financial activities within the country, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and alignment with Animals Asia’s global financial strategies and objectives. This role will provide financial leadership, managing country- level finance operations while working closely with Global FP&A (Planning & Analysis) and FR&C (Reporting & Control) to achieve our global goals. The FM will collaborate closely with the global Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to support the finance support needs of our Programmes, Supporter Engagement and Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Control and Reporting
• Handle enquiries from other organization eg Tax Department
• Observe the directions and cooperate with head office on control and reporting works
• Implement and maintain best practices in general ledger management, reconciliations, inventory control and month- end close processes.
• Support month- end and year- end closing activities, including audit finalization and observation of regulatory requirements.
• Monitor cash flow and work with head office for cash forecast
• Deliver accurate financial statements on a timely basis
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
• Oversee current & non- current assets and liabilities, also the financial estimation, ensuring efficient and accurate transaction processing.
• Assist to draft and implement accounting and control policy.
Financial Planning and Analysis
• Provide financial analysis and reports to guide business decisions and improve profitability.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure consistent reporting and compliance with organizational policies
• Collaborate with departments to review financial performance and advise management.
• Assist to produce monthly management accounts, profit & loss, and variance analysis with commentary.
• Support the preparation of financial data for the annual report and ad hoc donor requirements
• Observe the directions and cooperate with head office on planning (including the budgeting and forecasting works described below) and analysis works
• Assist the works of planning and analysis directed by head office on any or all global functions, without limitation to works for fundraising, program and operation
• Assist fundraising team to update CRM record.
Budgeting and Forecasting
• Monitor performance against budgets and forecasts, analyze variances and provide regular updates to stakeholders
• Provide financial modelling and analysis for the projects
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts, working closely with other departments
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for global functions as directed, without limitation to works for fundraising, program and operation.
Team Leadership and Business Partnering
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high- performing team.
• Build strong working relationship with other departments, without limitation to legal & compliance departments
• Assist to understand the financial requirements of other departments and contribute to the development and support.
• Act as a finance point of contact, ensuring teams understand financial processes and systems
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth
• Support the local management on daily operations, especially the Country Director
