As HipVan&039;s Frontend Team Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage our engineering team in Vietnam to deliver high- quality solutions across our platforms. You will focus on improving delivery rates, elevating code quality, and driving technical excellence while managing team performance through OKRs and sprint planning. This role requires strong technical background in front- end development, combined with proven leadership experience.

Delivery & Frontend Quality Excellence

Lead and facilitate regular code reviews to ensure maintainability, readability, and alignment with the team’s coding standards.
Champion modern frontend development patterns and ensure consistency across projects and contributors.
Drive on- time delivery of features while maintaining high standards for UI/UX consistency, performance, and code quality.
Establish and enforce frontend best practices, including component reusability, accessibility, and automated testing (unit, integration, and E2E).
Promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by encouraging peer reviews, technical discussions, and documentation of key learnings.

Team Leadership & People Management

Lead a frontend engineering team of 5+ developers through regular 1:1 meetings, performance reviews, and career growth planning. Foster a strong culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement through effective mentorship and coaching.

Oversee sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Remove blockers, manage priorities with product managers and designers, and ensure smooth execution of frontend development cycles. Demonstrated track record of improving team delivery velocity, frontend performance, and overall code quality.

Define team OKRs aligned with company and product goals. Track progress, adjust priorities when needed, and conduct regular check- ins to keep the team focused on impactful outcomes.

Provide regular progress updates and OKR reports to leadership. Track and communicate key team metrics — such as delivery velocity, bug rates, performance improvements, and frontend reliability.

Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, backend teams, and QA engineers to deliver high- quality user experiences. Align engineering priorities with business and design objectives.

Strong understanding of frontend architecture, performance optimization, CI/CD for web apps, and design system implementation.
Familiarity with REST/GraphQL APIs and cross- browser compatibility considerations.
Minimum 1 year of experience leading or managing engineering teams of 5+ members.
5+ years of hands- on frontend development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular).

Proven ability to lead and motivate frontend teams effectively. Excellent communication skills for cross- functional collaboration and stakeholder management. Experience managing distributed or remote teams is a plus.
