Electrical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Designs electrical systems by developing and testing components.
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Confirms system&039;s and components&039; capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Confirms system&039;s and components&039; capabilities by designing testing methods; testing properties.
Keeps equipment operational by following manufacturer&039;s instructions and established procedures; requesting repair service.
Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for building and assembling electrical components; soliciting observations from operators.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Analyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e. OSHA, CE, SEMI or customer specific).
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Liaise with customers and in- house technical and engineering staff.
Produce electrical diagrams, working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub- assemblies or product using Solidworks electrical.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Liaise with vendors for technical information and specifications.
Capable to travel for on- site support, system bring up, trouble shooting etc…
Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.

Education :

A diploma or degree in Electrical design, Electrical engineering or equivalent

Experience :

Preferably 1- 5 years in Electrical design, drafting, assembling and installation.
Experienced in designing electrical systems for machines in industries such as Semiconductor, Machinery, Electronic, factory automation system.

Knowledge & Skills

Experience with risk assessment and safety circuit design is a plus.
Experience in selecting PLC control systems (Mitsubishi, Omron, Beckhoff, etc.).
Electrical Systems, Electrical Troubleshooting, Electrical Testing Design, Quality Focus, Analyzing Information: Reporting Research Results, Attention to Detail, Emphasizing Excellence.
Experience in motor (stepper, servo, AC) sizing and motion control is a plus.
Soft skills: Teamwork, Innovation
Experience in standards such as IEC 60204- 1, SEMI S2, IEC 13849- 1, etc. is a plus.
Electrical device sizing and selection such as circuit breaker (CB), Magnetic contactor (MC), wire, cable, connector, motor, pneumatic devices, sensors, control buttons, safety devices, etc.
Language: English intermediate.
Software: SolidWorks Electrical.
