GENERAL SUMMARY:
This Director role is responsible for driving accurate production and supply chain capacity planning and management for the Apparel category, and overseeing allocation in line with global sourcing strategies. This position partners closely with brand leaders, supply chain partners, and vendor networks to ensure alignment of projections, optimize sourcing decisions, and build capabilities that deliver speed, flexibility, and agility. This position reports to Associate Vice President, Demand Planning and Production Management
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Leadership
• Lead and develop a high- performing team across multiple countries, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Partner with the AVP of Demand Planning & Production Management in driving improvement initiatives on accuracy forecast and capacity utilization.
• Collaborate with brand and cross- functional leaders in developing short to mid- term capacity planning strategies that align with company objectives.
Sourcing, Allocation & Capacity Planning
• Lead long- range and seasonal capacity planning to ensure alignment with business objectives and sourcing strategies. Make strategic decisions on order and projection movements across vendors and countries. Drive Sourcing Operations strategy focused on New Product Launch, Supply Chain Resiliency, and OTIF in line with company’s long- term goals.
• Monitor and adjust capacity plans based on market trends, calendar changes, and risk assessments.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on capacity risks and mitigation strategies. Manage leadership expectations around New Product Introduction, Country of Origin Diversification, and Partner Excellence.
• Lead the adoption of digital tools and advanced planning systems to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Partner with cross- functional teams and vendors to build long- term capacity and capabilities that support speed, flexibility, and agility requirements.
• Drive initiatives that enhance vendor capabilities and responsiveness to changing market dynamics. Develop innovative speed solutions to meet evolving brand requirements and future business needs.
Collaboration & Influence
• Direct, mentor, and coach team members. Set goals, manage performance appraisals, and ensure the team has the necessary training to meet business objectives.
• Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.
• Collaborate with Brand Planning (MP&A), Product development, Raw Material Technical, QA, Production Management, Logistics, and Finance teams for seamless execution.
• Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with internal cross- functional teams and external vendors to optimize workflows and resolve issues.
