🧠 About the Role
We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineering Lead to take the reins in designing and delivering modern cloud- native data architectures. This is a strategic leadership position. You’ll be building the data and AI practice from the ground up, managing both AI and data teams, and taking full ownership of project delivery and technical direction.
This role is ideal for someone who is ready to step up, take the lead, and own both the technical and business- facing aspects of a fast- growing data practice.
You&039;ll be working at the intersection of big data and cloud computing—leading people and projects, driving innovation, and helping clients solve complex data challenges with confidence and clarity. This role has the potential to evolve into a Chief of Data position, offering significant influence over the company&039;s long- term data and AI strategy.
Senior Engineers with leadership experience are welcome!
Work closely with CTO and CEO in strategic decisions, including technology roadmap and best practices.
Actively communicate with customers to gather requirements, provide status updates, and ensure alignment.
Manage real- time data ingestion and streaming solutions with Kafka, Flink, or Apache Beam.
Collaborate with DevOps and cloud architects to deploy scalable solutions on AWS/GCP/Azure
Develop robust data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using modern frameworks (Airflow, Glue, DBT, etc.).
Take ownership of project delivery and technical leadership, from scoping to execution.
Consult and advise clients on data strategy, architecture design, and AI implementation.
Lead and grow a high- performing team of data and AI engineers, helping shape both project outcomes and long- term team capability.
Architect and build modern cloud- native data platforms (Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses).
Write clean, efficient code using SQL and Python; maintain and tune data solutions for performance.
Stay ahead of technology trends and recommend new approaches for data strategy and architecture.

🎯 What You Bring
Must- Have:
Past experience leading data projects (formal leadership title not required).
Solid background working with query engines and processing frameworks (Presto, Flink, PySpark, or DBT)
Comfortable engaging in client- facing activities such as requirement gathering, solution consulting, and delivery updates.
Proven hands- on experience with AWS Cloud (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions)
Experience with modern data integration tools (Fivetran, Airbyte, Talend, or AWS Glue)
Familiarity with orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster, or Luigi.
Understanding of modern databases and real- time data systems (Redshift, MongoDB, Kafka, and PostgreSQL)
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with a disciplined coding mindset.
Excellent communication skills, able to work directly with clients and non- technical stakeholders.
5+ years of experience in data engineering, cloud data architecture, or related roles.
Nice- to- Have:
Experience working with AI/ML projects or teams is a strong plus.
AWS Data Analytics or other relevant cloud certifications.
Exposure to Big Data platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, or Hadoop.
Strong leadership potential with the ability to influence teams and drive decisions.
