CNC PROGRAMMER

JOB PURPOSE:

Develop and optimize CNC manufacturing processes by analyzing and resolving product development issues through data- driven problem solving, executing trial machining runs to ensure surface finish and dimensional accuracy, and delivering high- quality samples with complete PPAP documentation throughout the development phase.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve machining issues.
Develop and maintain machining documentation including setup sheets, work instructions, and process parameters.
Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3- axis and 5- axis machining operations including milling, drilling, and trimming of carbon fiber and composite parts.
Define and optimize machining parameters including cutting speed, feed rate, tool paths, and cutting depth.
Select appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, and fixtures based on part geometry and material characteristics.
Provide technical support to CNC operators during program setup, debugging, and troubleshooting.
Validate CNC programs through simulation and trial runs to ensure machining accuracy and efficiency.
Support maintenance teams in troubleshooting CNC machine issues related to machining programs.
Establish tool life monitoring and replacement strategies to maintain machining performance.
Use CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or NX to create, simulate, and verify machining programs.

Experience with 3- axis or 5- axis CNC machining.
Strong analytical & problem- solving (8D, 5Why, FMEA), and communication skills.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM programming software such as Mastercam.
Familiar with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Hands- on experience in using 2D/3D software.
Working knowledge of APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and PPAP is desired.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, automotive engineering or mechantronics.
Basic understanding of automation and robotic integration (advantage).
