The Cambridge Primary Lead provides academic leadership for the Cambridge International Primary Programme at Him Lam International School. This includes overseeing curriculum planning, teaching and learning, assessments, and parent engagement. The post- holder works collaboratively with the Vice- Principal, subject teachers, and homeroom teams to ensure that all Cambridge Primary students receive a high- quality, internationally aligned education. A key responsibility is ensuring regular communication with parents to educate them about the Cambridge programme, provide updates on their child’s academic progress, and support their understanding of international education. The Cambridge Primary Lead also plays a central role in aligning and mapping Cambridge subjects with their MoET counterparts in support of the Integrated Programme, and in overseeing the organisation and registration of Cambridge Primary Checkpoint assessments.
Curriculum Implementation & Development
Lead the implementation of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum in accordance with CAIE guidelines and school goals.
Support horizontal and vertical curriculum alignment across year levels.
Collaborate with teachers to adapt curriculum to meet learner needs.
Approve medium and short- term planning; monitor execution of weekly and termly teaching plans.
Lead the mapping and alignment of Cambridge Primary subjects with MoET counterparts for the Integrated Programme, in coordination with MoET teachers and the Academic Department.
Teaching & Learning Quality Assurance
Conduct regular observations of teaching and learning.
Guide teachers in effective instructional strategies for Cambridge learners.
Provide constructive feedback and coaching to support staff development.
Assessment & Reporting
Support teachers in analysing assessment data to inform instruction.
Oversee formative and summative assessment processes aligned with Cambridge standards.
Work with the Registrar and Vice- Principal on report generation and student tracking.
Manage the coordination, registration, and administration of Cambridge Primary Checkpoint exams.
Professional Development
Identify teacher training needs and coordinate professional learning opportunities.
Support teacher onboarding and induction processes.
Parent Communication & Education
Organise and lead Cambridge- specific Parent Workshops, Conferences, and information sessions.
Educate parents on Cambridge curriculum expectations, assessment methods, and student pathways.
Provide timely updates and advice on how parents can support learning at home.
Ensure ongoing, positive communication with parents regarding academic progress.
Cambridge Relationship Management
Maintain up- to- date knowledge of CAIE policies and events.
Act as the liaison between the school and Cambridge International regarding Primary programme matters.
School Involvement
Organise academic enrichment and student- led events to enhance engagement.
Support admissions, orientation, and student transition between programmes.
Other tasks as assigned by the direct line manager or the School Director.
