Backend Technical Lead (Java/Golang/PHP)

As a Technical Lead, you will lead the build of key technical projects that further the company’s products and platforms. In turn, you’ll progress our company mission of improving our customers’ business productivity, wage compliance, and employee satisfaction.

You will work closely with your peers, product, design, and leadership to build amazing products and features, delivering services and products to millions of users and businesses from small & medium enterprises.

Form a key member of the technical leadership team, driving standards, ways of working and platform decision- making
This role is a player- coach
Operate in a get- things- done, value- demonstrating, iterative manner
Uphold a high bar of engineering standards and co- ordinate with Infrastructure and Quality
Influence and problem- solve with Sr, Mid and Jr. engineers to deliver high- quality outcomes. This role may not have direct reports, but your leadership and mentorship will be key to driving the squads to successful outcomes
Collaborate with Product and Design to discover and estimate solution options to key strategic initiatives
Distribute work to Sr, Mid and Jr. engineers
Make technical decisions and deliver technical solutions. Use hands- on technical expertise to drive solutions for a range of challenges. You will be writing code in this role
Accountability for delivering technical solutions within estimated timeframes

Mastery of Golang, Java or PHP would be highly advantageous
Proficient in database development, web development, windows development, source code control, configuration management and deployment
Can perform advanced debugging and profiling (performance optimization), both within the domain and across services
Experience in Agile development environments
3+ years experience as a Lead/SA/TA software engineer on high- performing, architecturally complex consumer products
Ability to identify the technical problems to be solved within the context of their respective team/project/squad
SME for a discipline/domain. Broad holistic understanding of the overall architecture and underlying systems
Able to apply critical thinking that satisfies the business needs when proposing technical solutions
Fluent verbal English communication skills, especially in the global software development environment
Break down problems to impactful milestones and drive the execution, collaborating and aligning with their peers
